News from our correspondent on July 2, the International Forum on Stainless Steel (ISSF) released statistical data show that in the first quarter of 2020, global stainless steel crude steel output totaled 11.693 million tons, down about 8.0% year-on-year, down 5.8% quarter-on-quarter.
By region, in the first quarter, Europe stainless steel crude steel production of 1.779 million tons, down about 6.3%, month-on-month growth of about 13.1%; The production of stainless steel crude steel in the United States was 627,000 tons, down about 10.9% year-on-year and up about 9.1% month-on-month. The output of stainless steel crude steel in mainland China was 6.08 million tons, down about 9.0% year-on-year and down 12.0% month-on-month. The crude steel production of stainless steel in Asia excluding China, South Korea and Indonesia (mainly Japan, India and Taiwan, China) was 1.886 million tons, down about 3.8% year-on-year and 6.8% month-on-month. Rest of the region (Brazil, Russia, South Africa, South Korea and Indonesia) stainless steel crude steel production was 1.323 million tons, down about 9.7% year on year and 1.2% month-on-month.
